A recent survey from the Minnesota Department of Health found that 76% of the 751 medical marijuana patients with PTSD experience positive results. PTSD severity was also decreased for 71% of the patients. A portion of the patients (23%) also reporting anxiety reduction.
Pain can be associated with some PTSD patients and 12% reported a reduction in pain, according to Fox 9 News. About 16% of those surveyed also experienced better sleep.
An expected negative effect – dry mouth, was also reported. Increased appetite (“the munchies”) was also reported.
At last count, in May, Minnesota had 2,873 medical marijuana patients with PTSD.
