Minnesota Medical Marijuana Dispensary Announces Major Price Cuts

Two companies produce medical marijuana in Minnesota, and one has decided to lower its prices. The price cuts at Minnesota Medical Solutions (MinnMed) will be between 8 and 51 percent. These price cuts apply only to capsules, oils and vaporizers.

Minnesota’s medical marijuana law is the most heavily restricted program in the U.S., CBS Minnesota reports. The restrictions hinder patients’ eligibility and keep the industry from enlarging, ultimately causing financial issues for the dispensaries. Last year, MinnMed reported a $3 million loss. Minnesota’s second medical marijuana producer, LeafLine Labs reported a $2.2 million loss.

In the summer of 2017, persons with documented PTSD will be able to apply for a medical marijuana card.
