New Medical Marijuana Dispensary Opens in Moorhead

MN Dispensary

Medical marijuana patients residing in Moorhead, Minnesota, and surrounding areas, have additional access to medical marijuana. Minnesota Medical Solutions dispensary has officially opened.

To date, Minnesota has roughly 1,500 approved medical marijuana patients, The Daily Journal reports. Until now, Moorhead patients had to travel to Minneapolis to find doctors and dispensaries.

The new dispensary is offering THC concentrates, but is not offering any dry flower or raw plant material. It will also staff a pharmacist and pharmacy technician.  Security measures are in place and the location offers a play area for children along with a private consultation area.

Minnesota Medical Solutions spokesman, Joe Loveland said, “People expect this place to look like a place you’d find in Colorado. It obviously doesn’t look like that.

Minnesota Medical Solutions CEO Kyle Kingsley said, “Compared to opioids, its’ a pretty darn safe medication… We are not cannabis enthusiasts. We’re patient advocates.”

Since the inception of the medical marijuana program in Minnesota, 87-percent of registered patients report relief in some form from the symptoms of their medical ailments. All medical marijuana patients diagnosed with Tourette Syndrome, a terminal illness or glaucoma said to benefit in some way from using medical marijuana. Their relief rating was 4 on a scale of 1 to 7.

Intractable pain disorders can get a medical marijuana card beginning July 1st, but are not eligible to purchase medical marijuana until the state regulated date of August 1st.
